How We Help
Every criminal case is different, but the path to a strong defence usually follows the same careful steps.
We listen to what happened, explain the charge you are facing, and address urgent issues such as bail, release conditions or an upcoming court date.
Once the Crown provides disclosure, we examine police notes, statements, video, digital records and other evidence for weaknesses and legal issues.
We explain your options clearly, whether that means Charter applications, negotiations with the Crown, alternative resolutions or preparing for trial.
We appear with you in the Ontario Court of Justice or the Superior Court of Justice and keep you informed at every stage of the process.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to questions people often ask when they, or someone close to them, have been charged with a criminal offence.
Being charged is not the same as being convicted, but decisions made early can affect the outcome. A lawyer can explain the charge, your release conditions and your options before you speak to police, sign documents or attend court.
Yes. Saggi Law Firm offers a free consultation so you can explain your situation, understand the charge and learn about the next steps before making any decisions.
Sometimes. The Crown decides whether to continue a prosecution based on the evidence and the public interest. A lawyer can review the disclosure, identify problems in the case and raise them with the Crown where appropriate.
In most cases the first appearance is administrative. You or your lawyer will usually receive disclosure and the case is adjourned to a later date. It is important to attend or have a lawyer appear for you as required.
Yes. We represent clients at bail hearings and bail reviews, prepare release plans, and work with proposed sureties to help present the strongest possible case for release.
It depends on how the case ends. A withdrawal, stay or acquittal does not result in a conviction. Discharges avoid a conviction but can still appear on police records for a period of time. Your lawyer can explain the likely consequences of each option.
Bring any documents you received, such as your release order or undertaking, your court date information, and any disclosure you already have. If you have none of these, call anyway and we will explain what we need.
